Ideas & Hooks

The Ideas page is where you'll spend most of your time in SocialGPT. It's your personal idea engine — constantly generating fresh hooks based on what's working in your niche.

What is a hook?

A hook is the opening concept of your video or post — the thing that grabs attention in the first few seconds. A great hook is the difference between someone scrolling past your content and stopping to watch.

Each hook in SocialGPT includes a title, a description of the concept, and whether it's best suited as a video or a carousel post.

Browsing suggested hooks

When you open the Ideas page, you'll see the Suggested tab. SocialGPT automatically generates hooks based on your content pillars and what's trending in your niche.

Hooks are shown one at a time. For each one, you can:

  • Save it — tap the heart icon to bookmark it for later
  • Dismiss it — skip to the next idea if it's not for you
  • Generate a script — turn it into a ready-to-record video script
  • Generate a carousel — create a multi-slide post with AI images
  • Record a video — jump straight to the teleprompter

When you're running low on suggestions, SocialGPT creates new ones in the background. You'll see a message that says "Creating new hooks for you" — it usually takes about a minute.

Tip

Don't overthink it. If a hook doesn't feel right, dismiss it and move on. The best creators post often, and SocialGPT will keep generating fresh ideas.

Creating your own ideas

Have something specific in mind? Use the text field at the top of the Ideas page to describe your own idea, hook, or topic. SocialGPT will generate a polished hook from your description.

You can also choose whether you want the idea as a video or carousel before generating.

Custom hooks appear in the Custom tab so they're easy to find later.

Saved hooks

Everything you bookmark shows up in the Saved tab. This is your personal library of ideas you want to come back to. You can unsave any hook at any time.

What you can do with a hook

Once you have a hook you like, you have three paths:

    Generate a script

    Turn the hook into a timed video script with sections and cues. Then use the built-in teleprompter to record.
  2. 2

    Generate a carousel

    Create a multi-slide post with AI-generated images, customizable text overlays, and TikTok-style previews.
  3. 3

    Record directly

    If you already know what you want to say, jump straight to the teleprompter and start filming.
