Chat with SocialGPT

The Chat feature is like having a content strategist available 24/7. You can ask it anything about your content, brainstorm ideas, or use it to generate hooks, scripts, and carousels through a conversation.

Quick chat from the home page

You don't have to navigate to the Chat page to start a conversation. On the home page, there's a floating chat pill at the bottom-right corner. Type a question or press ⌘K (Ctrl+K on Windows) to focus it, then hit Enter. You'll be taken to a full chat with your message already sent.

Tip

The chat pill is the fastest way to ask a quick question or kick off content creation without leaving your feed.

Starting a conversation

When you open Chat, you'll see a welcome screen with a few suggested questions to get you started:

  • "Help me write viral TikTok hooks"
  • "When should I post for maximum engagement?"
  • "What makes videos perform well?"
  • "Give me content ideas"

Tap any suggestion, or type your own question. There are no wrong questions — ask anything about content creation, strategy, trends, or your specific niche.

Quick workflows

Above the text input, you'll see workflow shortcuts for the most common tasks:

  • Hooks — quickly generate multiple hook ideas. You can choose whether you want video or carousel hooks.
  • Script — generate a full video script. Pick your preferred duration (15s to 120s).
  • Carousel — create a carousel post. Choose how many slides you want (3 to 9).

Tap a workflow, adjust the options if you want, then hit send. The AI will handle the rest.

Tip

Workflows are the fastest way to create content. Instead of navigating to the Ideas page, generating a hook, then generating a script — you can do it all in one conversation.

How the AI responds

The assistant responds with formatted text — headings, bullet points, and numbered lists where appropriate. When it generates content (like hooks or scripts), you'll see:

  • Progress indicators — showing what the AI is working on (e.g., "Generating hooks...")
  • Interactive hook cards — if it generates multiple hooks, you can tap one to select it
  • Links to your content — after generating a script or carousel, you'll get a link to view and edit it

Follow-up questions

The AI remembers your full conversation, so you can ask follow-ups naturally:

  • "Can you make that hook more punchy?"
  • "Now turn it into a 30-second script"
  • "What hashtags should I use with this?"
  • "Give me 3 more ideas like the second one"

Chat history

On desktop, you'll see a sidebar with your previous conversations. Tap any past chat to pick up where you left off. You can also start a new conversation at any time.

Your chat history is saved across sessions, so you won't lose anything even if you close your browser.

Not sure what to talk about? Here are some ideas:

  • Strategy — "I'm a fitness creator with 5K followers. How do I get to 50K?"
  • Brainstorming — "I make cooking videos. Give me 10 hook ideas for quick weeknight meals"
  • Analysis — "Why do some of my videos get 10x more views than others?"
  • Trends — "What's trending in the beauty space right now?"
  • Optimization — "What time should I post on TikTok for a US audience?"
