Setting up your account

Getting started with SocialGPT takes about two minutes. Here's everything you need to do to start getting personalized content ideas.

Creating your account

Head to app.gpt.social/signup and sign up with Google (one tap) or with your email and password. You'll need to accept the Terms of Service to continue. Once you're in, you'll walk through a quick three-step setup.

Step 1: Connect your social accounts

SocialGPT works best when it can see your existing content. Connecting your accounts lets it:

  • Analyze which of your posts perform best
  • Track your growth over time
  • Tailor hook ideas to your specific audience
  • Publish carousels directly to TikTok

You can connect:

  • TikTok — view analytics and publish carousels
  • Instagram — view post analytics and engagement
  • YouTube — track video performance

Each connection uses official OAuth — you'll be redirected to the platform to authorize access. SocialGPT never sees or stores your password.

Tip

You can skip this step and come back later, but we recommend connecting at least one account right away. It makes everything else work better.

Step 2: Tell us what you create

Next, you'll pick your content pillars — the topics you usually post about. For example: fitness, cooking, comedy, tech reviews, fashion, or personal finance.

This helps SocialGPT:

  • Generate hooks that match your niche
  • Show you trends relevant to your audience
  • Recommend creators to watch for inspiration

You can select multiple pillars and change them anytime in your account settings.

Step 3: Add creators to watch

Finally, you can add a few creators you admire. SocialGPT will track their top-performing content so you can learn what's working in your space.

Just paste a TikTok or YouTube profile link, or type in their username. SocialGPT will start pulling their content right away.

Tip

The free tier lets you track up to 5 creators. Pick creators in your niche whose style or growth you want to learn from.

What happens next?

Once you finish setup, SocialGPT starts working in the background. It takes about a minute to generate your first batch of hook ideas. After that, your home page will show:

  • Your stats at a glance — animated counters showing your views, likes, comments, shares, and engagement rate for the selected time period
  • A personalized feed — cards with content ideas, trending topics, inspiration posts, and performance insights, all scored and prioritized for you
  • Live post tracking — when you publish something new, a "Just Posted" card appears with real-time metrics that update automatically
  • Quick chat — a floating chat pill at the bottom of the screen (press ⌘K to focus) so you can ask the AI assistant anything without leaving the home page
