Carousels

Carousels are multi-slide posts — the kind where people swipe through several images. They're one of the highest-engagement formats on TikTok and Instagram. SocialGPT can generate an entire carousel from a single hook idea.

Creating a carousel

From any hook on the Ideas page, tap Generate Carousel. SocialGPT handles everything in three phases:

    Style extraction

    The AI analyzes your hook to pick colors, mood, and visual style. You don't need to do anything — it happens automatically.
  2. 2

    Screen planning

    SocialGPT decides what each slide should say. By default, it creates about 6 slides with headlines and supporting text.
  3. 3

    Image generation

    Each slide gets a unique AI-generated image that matches the style. This step takes the longest — usually 30 to 60 seconds total.

Tip

If an individual image fails to generate (it happens occasionally), you'll see an error icon on that slide. You can retry it, or just publish the carousel without it.

Previewing your carousel

Once generation is complete, you'll see your carousel in a TikTok-style preview. You can:

  • Swipe through slides — use arrow buttons on desktop, or swipe on mobile
  • See the slide thumbnails — a horizontal strip at the bottom shows all slides
  • Preview the TikTok layout — see exactly how it will look when posted, including the like/comment/share icons

Editing text overlays

Each slide has text overlaid on the image. You can customize how this text appears:

  • Position — choose from 9 positions (top-left, center, bottom-right, etc.) using a visual grid
  • Text color — pick any color for the text itself
  • Background color — set a background behind the text for readability
  • Opacity — control how transparent the text background is (0–100%)
  • Font size — small, medium, or large

Changes save automatically as you make them.

Publishing to TikTok

If you have your TikTok account connected, you can publish the carousel directly from SocialGPT.

    Tap "Publish to TikTok"

    SocialGPT uploads each slide to TikTok as a carousel draft.
  2. 2

    Wait for processing

    You'll see a progress indicator while TikTok processes the upload. This usually takes 10 to 30 seconds.
  3. 3

    View on TikTok

    Once published, you'll get a confirmation with a link to view your carousel on TikTok.

Tip

The carousel is published as a draft on TikTok, so you can still add captions, hashtags, and sounds before making it public.

Downloading your carousel

Prefer to post manually? Tap Download Carousel to save all the slide images as PNG files to your device. You can then upload them to any platform.

Starting over

If you're not happy with the result, tap Regenerate All to start the generation process over from scratch. The AI will pick new styles, layouts, and images.
